The movie industry seems to be surviving on Marvel films. If Marvel Studios can make a successful Ant-Man film then I don’t see any way of stopping them, and now they’re bringing all that Marvel magic to the stage with Marvel Universe Live!
Experience 14 of Marvel’s best heroes taking on 11 of its most dangerous villains on one epic quest. After the thunder god Thor destroys the cosmic cube, a source of ultimate power, heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, and more travel the globe to find its pieces to prevent it from falling in the wrong hands. Villains like the Red Skull, Green Goblin, Loki, Doctor Octopus, Madam Hydra, and others will be giving the heroes a hard fight.
Made for all ages, this production looks to provide more action than what Disney tends to bring when they adapt their movies to the stage. Expect to see a lot of hand-to-hand combat, pyrotechnics, motorcycle tricks, and acrobatics in an edge-of-your-seat performance. In addition, it is a completely original story not related to the comic books or the cinematic universe, but it does seem to play off the infinity stone saga with the cosmic cube resembling the tesseract.
Marvel Universe Live! will be running Sept. 10 – 13 at the United Center located at 1901 W. Madison St. Times vary between 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. depending on the day.
