National Meatball Day Pasta-bilities


This Saturday, March 9, is National Meatball Day, so celebrate by enjoying some of the city’s finest meatballs. This week, try one of these Chicago restaurants and order a plate of one of some of our favorite meatball dishes.


With four locations in Chicago and more across Illinois, Rosebud serves authentic Italian from old recipes. Stop by on March 9th for exclusive National Meatball Day $9 Mama’s Meatballs. You can also go for a classic spaghetti and meatballs dish at Rosebud any day this week, or grab a bite during Happy Hour, Mondays through Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Enjoy $6 drinks and appetizers, including the meatball slider, served on a brioche bun.

Mario’s Table

Try the famous Meatball Salad at Mario’s Table: Fabulous meatballs marinara perfectly complement a fresh Romaine salad topped with tomatoes and slivered onions, tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette.

Robert’s Pizza & Dough Co.

Though known for their pizzas, Robert’s Pizza & Dough Co. has more to offer. For National Meatball Day, enjoy one of their delicious meatball dishes. Start with a meatball appetizer, served with red sauce, parmesan, giardiniera, and za crostini. For dinner, enjoy the penne and meatballs pasta dish or meatball sandwich. This Indian eatery featured at French Market Chicago takes a twist on traditional meatball dishes. Try Klay Oven Kitchen’s spicy meatball curry. The curry is made with beef and pork meatballs braised in a tomato, chili, and garam masala sauce. Grab a quick bite to eat at Klay this National Meatball Day.


Francesca’s is a family restaurant serving traditional Italian meals. This National Meatball Day, begin your dinner with a traditional Italian meatball dish, Polopette al Fieore. At Francesca’s, you’ll find these meatballs under antipasti, the traditional first course of an Italian meal. The homemade beef and pork meatballs are served in pomodoro with seasoned ricotta and toasted ciabatta.

Longman & Eagle
