After a meal at Chicago Q, I am ready to face any kind of weather! This is a new addition to my favorites list! Located in the beautiful Gold Coast area, there is nothing more comforting than Southern BBQ. I love their delicious ribs, smokey mac & cheese, and it would be a mistake to forget to mention the corn bread!

A cheeseburger is much-welcomed during the cold nights, especially in the Windy City. Who doesn’t love something compact, hearty, and easy to customize? I love listening to local musical acts and ordering a Chorizo burger from Reggies Music Joint. #ChicagoInsiders Tip: Make sure you don’t forget the egg, it’s the perfect finishing touch to every burger!

During the Chicago winter time, I can’t get enough of chicken parmesan, and the best you can have is at Mia Francesca (I’m a frequent customer of the one in Lakeview). Breaded chicken and fresh pasta topped with some of the best sauce and cheese you could hope for. This dish is where it’s at! It’s filling and warm but not too heavy. And the perfect comfort food to eat on a cold Chicago night enjoyed with a glass of great Pinot Noir.
