Original Rainbow Cone Opens Second Location at Navy Pier

Share

A beloved Chicago institution for 90 years, Original Rainbow Cone is opening a second location at Navy Pier this weekend.

This marks the first time that the iconic ice cream shop has opened a location outside of its landmark home in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood. The Original Rainbow Cone kiosk will be located near Riva Crabhouse in the Pier’s South Dock.

Not familiar with this local favorite? Treat yourself to their signature five-flavor cone loaded with layers of chocolate, pistachio, Palmer House (vanilla with cherries and walnuts) and strawberry ice creams, plus a layer of orange sherbet; the layering gives the cone a colorful rainbow look… thus the name. Now, after serving generations of Chicagoans, ice cream lovers from across the country and around the globe will enjoy Rainbow’s famous homemade ice cream all summer long.

Adding a Chicago institution like Rainbow Cone fits perfectly into their effort to partner with local favorites to provide Navy Pier guests with a true taste of Chicago. Navy Pier has recruited some of the most popular local establishments that reflect authentic Chicago cuisine including Porkchop, DMK Burger and Fish Bar, Goddess and the Baker, Big City Chicken, Snow Dragon Shavery, and the recently-announced Tiny Tavern.
