Spring for Easter Brunch Specials

Share

Unlike Easter egg hunting, you don’t have to scour for holiday specials in Chicago. These restaurants offer limited-time menus, both for Easter brunch on April 20 and throughout the weekend.

I|O GODFREY

The Easter Bunny will pay a special visit to brunch at the River North rooftop restaurant I|O Godfrey. Between participating in an Easter egg hunt, guests can dine on make-your-own omelets, carved prime rib and a pancake and French toast station for $65 per adult and $15 per child under 12. Desserts include chocolate-covered strawberries and cake pops. Reservations.

SWEET MANDY B’S

Leaning into the sweet side of the holiday, Sweet Mandy B’s has a variety of seasonal treats available at its Lincoln Park and Streeterville locations. From April 17-20, it’ll offer Bird’s Nest cupcakes, a six-pack of pastel Easter cupcakes, bunny-themed cakes, cut-out cookies and decorated Rice Krispie treats, plus custom-order carrot cakes with cream cheese.

THE DEARBORN

In the heart of the Loop lies The Dearborn, which will host a weekend of Easter specials for dinner April 18-20 and a special brunch April 20. Decadent lamb lollipops, heirloom carrots, duck fat potatoes and even a saddle of rabbit will make an appearance. Its strawberry rhubarb trifle comes with seasonal rhubarb compote, lemon cake, fresh strawberries and vanilla chantilly. Reservations.

UVAE KITCHEN & WINE BAR

Andersonville’s Uvae knows Easter brunch doesn’t have to be just sweet or just savory — and should come with a boozy kick. Its prix fixe menu twists the average fixings with lobster cake Benedict and Grand Marnier creme brûlée. Per person, the three-course menu is $54, plus bottomless brunch drinks, wine and beer for an additional $26. For families, a $20 children’s menu includes scrambled eggs, French toast, fruit and kid-friendly drinks. Reservations.

TANTA CHICAGO

Also in River North, Tanta Chicago (pictured at top) has a Peruvian interpretation of Easter specials in a variety of textures and flavors. Its poached shrimp, ahi yellowfin tuna, fried whole fish and lamb shank come with inventive fusion sides and sauces. Finish the occasion with its huevos de Pascua, a carrot cake with milk chocolate hazelnut mousse and salted caramel. Reservations.

VINCI

Italian cuisine meets spring produce at this rustic Lincoln Park restaurant. For $42 per person, guests can delight in a buffet of banana-stuffed French toast, chicken saltimbocca, roasted leg of lamb, breakfast pizza, mini cannoli, tiramisu and more. Kid’s meals are $22.99 per child and include French toast, scrambled eggs with bacon, pasta or Margherita pizza. Reservations.

LÍRICA

Overlooking the lake on Navy Pier is the Latin-inspired restaurant Lírica. Its $58 Easter brunch buffet is a concoction of classic and creative, including but not limited to honey-baked ham, smoked salmon, build-your-own-waffles, spring salad and seasonal vegetables. Reservations.

Extravagance is the goal for Prime & Provisions, a riverside steakhouse with a Grand Brunch featuring a literal Ferris wheel of desserts. From an endless breakfast smorgasbord to a slow-roasted carving station to a raw seafood bar, it’s less a meal and more an experience. The buffet is $95.99 per adult, $39.99 per child ages 7-12 and free for children 6 and under. Reservations.

AMBAR

All the way from the Balkans to Washington, D.C., Ambar opened its first Chicago location earlier this year. To ring in its arrival, it’s hosting an unlimited brunch for $36.99 per person, complete with house-made beef kebabs, beef prosciutto Benedict and strawberry blueberry waffles. Unlimited drinks start at $14.99. Reservations.
