Here’s 3 reasons you need to check out The Science Behind Pixar exhibit.

From Science to Storytelling

See how your favorite pictures come to life at The Science Behind Pixar exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago. Spanning an impressive 13,000 square feet, the special exhibition will offer guests of all ages an inside look at how the studio uses science, technology, engineering, and mat concepts to bring beloved films such as Inside Out, Brave, and The Incredibles to the silver screen.

Go Behind-the-Scenes

The exhibit zeros in on eight steps of the filmmaking process (modeling, rigging, surfaces, sets and cameras, animation, simulation, lighting, and rendering) through 40-plus interactive elements, giving guests the chance to engage with and understand the innovative STEM work that goes into creating Pixar’s worlds and characters.

Something for Everyone

You can learn how the massive world was created from a bug’s eye view in A Bug’s Life, how Merida’s fiery curls were meticulously researched and animated in Brave, and even a few fun facts like why 90 percent of all the monsters in Monsters, Inc. have the same tongue as Mike. Added bonus? You get to snap straight-to-instagram-worthy photos with life-sized recreations of your favorite Pixar characters.
