If you find yourself in need of a fun night out for the whole family look no further than to take the kids to Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier for their production of “Disney’s The Little Mermaid.”

Featuring the Academy Award winning song “Under the Sea” this musical tells the story of the princess of the ocean, Ariel, a mermaid who dreams of life up above on dry land. Featuring colorful friends, a villainous Ursula, and the dreamy Prince Eric, follow Ariel’s search for love and her voice in a tale of romance, danger, and adventure with plenty of laughs along the way.

Set in Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s CST Courtyard Theater, this 500 seat auditorium puts you right on top of the action with a very intimate feel to make the experience more personal. Without a bad seat in the house, nearly every patron has a perfect view of all the action and the cast members aren’t shy at all, walking in and around the audience throughout the show.

The Chicago Shakespeare Theater also does a great job of getting audience members involved in the show, not only through interactions with the cast during the show, but they also allow special opportunities after each performance for audiences to meet and talk with cast members after the shows, as well as those coveted photo opportunities.

This adaptation of the full length Broadway musical runs 75 minutes and will run until August 16, so parents will have plenty of chances to get out to see the adventures of Ariel and the gang for themselves. The Chicago Shakespeare Theater is located at Navy Pier, 600 E Grand Ave., and “Disney’s The Little Mermaid” runs daily.
