Breast Cancer Awareness Month: 8 Ways to Support the Cause

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Many businesses are holding various events and promotions to help fundraise for the cause. The donations will go towards new therapies, treatments, and cancer prevention research. With Cancer being such a universal illness, it’s important to bring awareness and advocate information regarding it.

Hard Rock Café

Hard Rock International proudly continues its longstanding support of breast cancer awareness and research with the return of its annual PINKTOBER campaign. Throughout the month of October, Hard Rock Hotels, Cafes, Casinos, Rock Shops®, Bet and Games around the globe are “going pink” by participating in fundraising efforts supporting the Hard Rock Heals Foundation®, the charitable arm of Hard Rock, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society and local charities. Adding to the millions of dollars donated throughout the history of the campaign, PINKTOBER raised over $1 million for breast cancer awareness and research last year alone, the largest single amount Hard Rock has raised since the program’s inception in 2000. Robert’s Pizza

Give back when you eat pizza in October! To celebrate National Pizza Month, Robert’s Pizza founder Robert Garvey has committed to fundraising for breast cancer awareness and research. During the month of October, $1 from every Lia and Cup & Char Pizza will be donated to Real Men Wear Pink of Greater Chicagoland by the American Cancer Society. Also benefiting Real Men Wear Pink, is the Tickled Pink Cocktail featuring tequila orange juice, lime, and grenadineAvailable all month long, $1 from every cocktail will be donated back to the organization.

The Lia and Cup & Char are two of the restaurant’s most popular pies. The Lia is a classic cheese featuring mozzarella and fresh tomato sauce and the Cup & Char is a classic pepperoni with Calabrian peppers, fresh mozzarella, and tomato sauce. Whether you grab a pie to-go or dine in while soaking up Chicago’s final patio days, ordering one of these classic pizzas gives back to a great cause.

Beatrix  

Beatrix is a café and restaurant located in Fulton Market, Loop, River North, Streeterville, and Oak Brook neighborhoods. The restaurant offers healthy meal options with an iconic coffee/bakery menu. During the month of October, every Pink Ribbon Cookie sold will provide a $1 donation to the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation’s Chicago’s In Good Taste.

Antico Posto

This Italian café and wine bar serves Italian Classics. Located in Oakbrook, this restaurant continues to advocate for breast cancer awareness. For the month of October, Antico Posto will be donating $1
for each Strawberry Cheesecake Gelato sold to the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation’s Chicago’s In Good Taste.

Café Ba-Ba-Reeba!

Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! is Chicago’s original tapas bar, serving authentic Spanish cuisine since 1985. The menu is designed to share, featuring tapas, pintxos (bite-sized tapas) and the classic Valencian rice dish, paella. Pair the meal with sangria, craft cocktails, Spanish wine and local beers in our lively Lincoln Park restaurant. $1 from every Sangria del Día sold benefits the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation’s Chicago’s In Good Taste.

Mon Ami Gabi

From Sunday, October 1 to Tuesday, October 31, start your meal with a sip towards a wonderful cause or end it with a sweet treat of support. Mon Ami Gabi will donate $1 of every Lillet Spritz and Almond Raspberry Macaron to Lynn Sage’s investment in early career practitioners and innovative research.

Ramen-San River North

$1 from every order of the Hot Donuts will be donated to The Pink Agenda, an organization dedicated to raising money for breast cancer research and care.
