You can’t go wrong with a Friday spent with suds at the cinema, and if you can enjoy it all outside then it’s an ideal way to kick off the weekend.
New Belgium Brewing Company, out of Colorado, will be stopping in Chicago for their Clips Beer and Film Tour. You may know New Belgium for their Fat Tire or 1554 beer, but now you’ll be able to try some of their harder to find brews in their Lips of Faith series like the Pear Ginger beer, La Foile sour brown ale, and Transatlantique Kriek ale. They will be offering their beers in 3-ounce samples and 12-ounce pours. The Slide Ride, Kim and Carlo’s Chicago Style Hot Dogs, and 5411 Empanadas will have some grub waiting for you too.
When the sun sets is when the projector comes on and you’ll be enchanted by the series of short films submitted by New Belgium fans for the tour. At every stop on the tour 100 percent of the proceeds go to a local non-profit and in Chicago that money will go to The Recyclery Collective and Alliance for the Great Lakes.
New Belgium Brewing Company’s Clips Beer and Film Tour will be stopping at Eckhart Park located at 1330 W. Chicago Ave. Friday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m. with films starting at 9:00 p.m. For more information visit newbelgium.com/Events/clips-beer-and-film.
