
Chicago has no shortage of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, from parades to river dyeing to limited-edition menus. In 2025, these institutions will provide a variety of ways to honor the city’s Irish heritage through the holiday weekend. We also have our Ultimate Irish Pub Crawl, featuring eight Irish pubs throughout the city.
HAWKSMOOR
Rarebit and Reuben Nuggets: Throughout March, Hawksmoor will offer St. Patrick’s Day-themed cocktails, mostly based on Teeling small batch Irish whiskey. The River North steakhouse, based in the historic LaSalle Powerhouse built in 1886, will also offer food specials from March 13 to 17, including beef and Guinness pie, rarebit baked potatoes and Reuben nuggets.
NAVY PIER
Shamrockin’ Swag: On March 15, Navy Pier is hosting its first Shamrockin’ at the Pier, a pub crawl featuring the lakefront attraction’s most popular restaurants and a docked cruise ship. This includes Harry Caray’s Tavern, Chef Art Smith’s Reunion, Offshore Rooftop and City Cruises’ Spirit of Navy Pier. For $40 a ticket, participants receive themed merchandise, drink specials, retailer discounts and live music performance.
PIPPIN’S TAVERN
Whiskey Jus: From March 15-17, leave your fields to flower and join the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at Pippin’s Tavern. The River North bar will have traditional bagpipers and dueling Irish pianos to match its limited-edition Irish-inspired menu, including Guinness beef tips, Irish dip sandwiches with Jameson jus, green beer and the Moby Dick — a hoagie with beer-battered cod and tartar sauce.
BAR PENDRY
Irish Canapes: On March 16, Bar Pendry inside the landmark Carbide & Carbon Building will host a booze-infused tea service along with Irish-inspired appetizers like Guinness cheddar scones and wagyu corned beef and cabbage roulade. The next day, chef Mark Shoemaker will whip up a corned beef sandwich, available with $5 draft beer and $30 whiskey flights.Make reservations at OpenTable.
SWEET MANDY B’S
Wholesome Holiday: The luck of the Irish is getting the sweet treatment from Sweet Mandy B’s, a bakeshop in Lincoln Park and Streeterville. From March 14-17, Mandy B’s will serve Lucky Charms Rice Krispies treats, shamrock cupcakes and cookies, and pot of gold cupcakes, starting at $4.75.
SWEETWATER
Bailey’s French Toast: On March 15, Sweetwater Grille & Tavern on Michigan Ave. will host an Irish breakfast buffet with crispy bacon, Bailey’s battered French toast and green beer, plus more. For $25 per ticket, guests can also try its limited-time menu with a pastrami Reuben and loaded mac and cheese.
GARRETT Popcorn Shops
Chicago Classics: The Chicago-based popcorn brand Garrett’s and its partner Frango Chocolate brings back its chocolate mint CaramelCrisp popcorn through March 16. The creative concoction is a blend of milk and white chocolate, and mint oil with Garrett’s much-loved CaramelCrisp popcorn, popped in a copper kettle.
The Dearborn
Five Days of Celebrations: At the Dearborn, St. Patrick’s Day lasts from March 13-17. Owned by Irish sisters Amy and Clodagh Lawless, the Loop restaurant will have traditional Irish dishes, including corned beef and cabbage and shepherd’s pie, plus cocktails featuring Teeling Irish Whiskey, promotions courtesy of Guinness and giveaways. Unexpected Experience: Wine tasting isn’t the first thing people think of when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, but Uvae’s changing the game with an Irish flag-themed tasting on March 15. For $40 per ticket, guests at the Andersonville tasting room can try green, white and orange wines, all sommelier-approved.
