SOFA Chicago, the world-renowned art fair dedicated to Sculpture, Objects, Functional Art and Design returns to Navy Pier’s Festival Hall Nov. 6-8, with an Opening Night Preview on Nov. 5.

Now in its 22nd year, SOFA Chicago is the must-attend art fair of the year, attracting more than 35,000 collectors, museum groups, curators, and art patrons from around the globe to view museum-quality works of art from 70+ galleries. SOFA Chicago recently placed #7 in the USA Today Reader’s Choice 10 Best Art Events, after a nationwide competition.

More than 70 galleries will display works by emerging and established artists in ceramics, wood, glass, fiber, jewelry, metal, design, and for the first time painting, photography and works on paper

Other SOFA Chicago 2015 highlights include:

  • Newly Designed Show Floor: New this year, SOFA CHICAGO will unveil a revamped floorplan created by Chica­go architects Cheryl Noel and Ravi Ricker of Wrap Architecture. The re-envisioned design will create a more open and cohesive show layout, allowing visitors to explore the fair in a more engaging way.
  • Two-Dimensional Artwork: For the first time ever, SOFA CHICAGO will debut painting, photography and works on paper, from world-renowned galleries, including Richard Norton Gal­lery, Winterowd Fine Art, Blue Spiral 1, Duane Reed Gallery, Hawk Galleries, Ann Nathan Gallery and more.
  • CONNECT: Returning for the third year is CONNECT, featuring a series of design environments created by six international art and design universities, incorporating seating, lighting, and objects. All work is created by university students under the guidance of their faculty advisors.
  • Lecture Series: Included with an admission ticket, attendees have the opportunity to take advantage of hearing from renowned artists, museum curators, and art critics who will discuss their work, current trends and important themes in art and design.The Corning Museum of Glass.
  • Hot Glass Roadshow: Always a crowd pleaser, The Corning Museum Hot Glass Roadshow will once again feature master glass artists creating amazing glass pieces on stage at SOFA CHICAGO. Be sure to watch these demonstrations where you might see an artist, whose work you like from the fair, creating a piece during these live demonstrations at SOFA CHICAGO.

Admission and Hours

Tickets for Opening Night are $150 for the 5 p.m.-9p.m. VIP Preview + three-day pass, $75 for the 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Public Preview + three-day pass, $50 for the 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Public Preview.
