“So, its ROOT, ROOT, ROOT for the Cubbies, if they don’t win it’s a shame.” For years loyal fans cheered this anthem even in defeat, never leaving the Chicago Cub’s side. But, that all changed when the 108-year curse was broken in 2016. Miracle, a musical centering around the 2016 World Series win, is perfect for all avid Cubby fans!
The play highlights the Delaney family, a clan of blue collar North Siders whose lives are filled with Cubby pride. However, even the excitement of ‘Flying the W’ came with hardships. Due to the high commercialization of Wrigleyville post World Series, the Delaney’s small family bar was left scrambling to compete with big companies.
The second you take your seat in the Royal George Theatre you will be transported to Wrigley Field with the inspiring musical numbers and intricate set. Audiences will fall in the love with the Delaney’s, sympathize during their hardships and be left questioning whether their Wrigleyville family business will stay afloat.
