Happy May! As the weather starts getting warmer again and businesses start opening back up here are some exciting events that you can start planning for. 

WOMANISH Experience

When: Now – May 30th

Where: 114 S State St, Loop

What: Enter the doors and take a trip back to the 1950s in the “We Can Do It’ era diner. From there, there’s so much to explore and take in as you make your way through this five-story exhibit with multiple rooms that all depict womanhood from various different perspectives. This pop-up is nothing but extraordinary, and you will definitely leave feeling inspired. 

Artopia: The Immersive Experience 

When: Now – May 16th

Where: Morgan Manufacturing, River West/West Town

What: Check out some work from Chicago’s most talented street artists as you make your way through this 60-minute self-guided tour. Here is some of what you can expect to see: murals, large-scale art installations, sound-reactive LEDs, interactive projection mapping, and more. Also, if you purchase VIP or Icon tickets, you get to try some specialty drinks in the Atropia Longe as well!

El Jolgorio de Salsa y Más 

When: Now – August 28th

Where: Puerto Rico Food & Liquors, Ukrainian Village

What: This Puerto Rican cultural summer event features live performances at ¡WEPA! Mercado del Pueblo, Salsa dancing and DJs at Esmeralda’s lounge, and a street vendor pop up for shopping all down Paseo Boricua! Support these businesses and have a spectacular day full of fun all in one!

Lincoln Park Conservatory Flower Show: Pretty In Pink 

When: Lincoln Park Conservatory, Lincoln Park

Where: Now – May 8th

What: Nothing says spring like a “pretty” flower show! Get ready to experience everything pink as you join in the celebration of the beauty that is azaleas, tulips, and cymbidium orchids ranging in hues from fuchsia to blush. If you’re a flower lover, this is the perfect event for you. 

Monet and Chicago

When: Now – June 14th

Where: Art Institute of Chicago | Chicago, IL, Grant Park

What: Come see 33 paintings and 13 drawings, which make up the largest collection of works by Monet outside of Paris! Known as the “father of Impressionism,” Monet’s work is very cherished here at the Art Institute, and we hope you find great inspiration through this spectacular experience.

The ‘Friends’ Experience 

When: Now – May 30th

Where: The Shops at Northbridge, River North

What: If you’re a Friends fan, then this is the perfect place to go that will be there for you! Pay tribute to the sitcom’s 25th anniversary the right way by immersing yourself in the show. Every one of your favorite elements from Rachel and Monica’s purple door to a glass case dedicated to the evolution of Rachel’s haircuts will surely leave you feeling nostalgic and sentimental.
