The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts is coming back to Chicago for its 19th year. Presented by the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce, this event will take place Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15. The party goes until 10pm on Saturday, reserving additional time for live music, food and drink tents. Sunday will observe the regular 11am to 7pm schedule, giving you ample time to enjoy the festivities.

Lakeview East is a diverse and lively neighborhood rich in culture, history and art. For over 18 years, the Chamber has worked with local residents and businesses to bring one of the most popular outdoor art festivals to Chicago.

The festival hand-picks artists, musicians, vendors and everything in between to provide attendees with a curated and special experience. It asks festival goers to bring a $5 donation, which goes to supporting additional events in the Lakeview East neighborhood.

This year, the fest will showcase more than 120 artists featuring world-class original paintings, sculpture, photography, furniture, and jewelry. In addition to artists’ booths, the festival will also include live music, a children’s play area, local wine, beer and food booths, an interactive garden oasis and much more. Visit the festival website for more information, including the music schedule and artist previews.

The image chosen to represent this year’s festival is Ethos Meets Reality by painter and illustrator Greta Sandquist. Sandquist worked in commercial art for 15 years before pursuing her passion for painting in 2010. She began selling her work at art fairs, local galleries and shops and is now known for her modern impressionist oil and acrylic paintings.
