CHICAGO’S ST PATRICK’S DAY SPECTACLE
by Leentje De Leeuw
Embark on a one-of-a-kind journey with Shoreline Sightseeing as they paint the Chicago River green in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Since 1939, this family-owned gem has been an integral part of Chicago’s landscape. Located on Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier, Shoreline Sightseeing invites you to witness the city’s iconic river transform to a vibrant emerald hue.
Partnering with the Journeymen Plumber’s Union Local 130, Shoreline Sightseeing supports the time-honored tradition of dyeing the river green. The spectacle begins early on Saturday, March 16 near the DuSable bridge on Michigan Avenue, followed by Architecture Tours cruising down the green river throughout the day. Join Shoreline Sightseeing in this annual celebration, where Chicago’s skyline and St. Patrick’s Day traditions converge in a spectacular display of color and culture.
