Those looking to ring in summer on a tasty note should look no further than the city’s hottest neighborhood, which will play host to the Taste of Randolph street festival.
The festival, in its 17th year, will host more than 20 different restaurants from the city’s burgeoning West Loop restaurant scene, giving attendees the opportunity to “get a taste of Restaurant Row without the reservation.”
Award-winning restaurants such as bellyQ, Grange Hall Burger Bar, and La Sardine are just some of the many vendors.
The three-day event is not only for foodies, however. Music-lovers will be happy to note that a full lineup of bands that will play on three different stages. Acts such as Dinosaur Jr., The Dandy Warhols, Best Coast, and Lettuce will headline the event.
Those wanting to continue the party after the festival ends can go to two official after parties. The first will be at the Bottom Lounge Friday night, where tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The second is at the City Winery Saturday night, where tickets are $18 in advance.
While admission is free, a $10 donation is suggested to support the West Loop Community Organization, which is sponsoring the event. And for those willing to shell out a little more cash, the event is selling VIP tickets, $40 for one-day, and $100 for the full weekend. Perks include access to two VIP lounges, reserved seating, discounted beer and food options, and private restroom trailers.
Taste of Randolph will take place Friday, June 19 through Sunday, June 21 at 900-1200 W. Randolph. It will begin at 5 p.m. on the first day and noon the next two days while going until 10 p.m. each night. Parking and biking accommodations are still to be determined. The event can be accessed via the CTA’s Morgan/Lake Pink and Green line station.
