Family Fun at Maggie Daley Park

Share

Maggie Daley Park is a sight to behold at any time of the year, winter being no exception. Invite some family and friends to make an adventure on a cool winter day. Grab an extra sweater, your favorite scarf, and the best of company for a walk in the beloved Chicago park.

Before entering Maggie Daley Park, pay a visit to nearby Chicago favorites, such as the Jay Pritzker Pavilion and Cloud Gate, also known as the Bean. Only minutes away from Maggie Daley, this short detour allows for many photo ops and selfies. You can also find the City of Chicago Christmas Tree nearby, along with some other festive decorations. It wouldn’t be a visit without some memorable pictures. Perhaps some fresh coffee or hot chocolate to warm up?

Once you wrap up the detour, head on over to Maggie Daley Park for some exploring. With their iconic skating ribbon, this is a winter activity you don’t want to miss. You don’t have to be an olympic skater to have some fun in this arena. We either have a friend, or are the friend, that holds onto the railing for dear life or that can skate circles around everyone. Whatever kind of skater you are, Maggie Daley welcomes all.

In their best efforts to keep you safe, Maggie Daley skating ribbon requires reservations before your visit. You can book your reservation from their website and keep up to date with pricing information and available dates. You have the option of bringing your own skates or renting some–no excuse to not join in on the fun. I think it’s safe to say everyone can use a little more time outside and extra holiday joy is always a plus. Maggie Daley Park offers rentals in adult and child sizes, as well as various ticket pricing and locker options.

If your skating session goes a little longer than planned, enjoy the sunset from the park itself. Maggie Daley has ample space to take a stroll and enjoy the city view. Not to mention if there’s snow, park trees will be perfectly covered by a sheet of white. Feeling like the holidays yet? Make sure to wrap up the day by stopping at a nearby Chicago restaurant– you’ll definitely work up an appetite. Bring your family and friends for an ultimate Chicago outing, winter edition. It’s not only fun, but a safe option for everyone.
