Experience ‘A Shore Thing’ Race to Mackinac Party at Navy Pier

Share

With 326 boats participating in the annual 333-mile journey from Chicago to Mackinac Island this year, the 108th Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac, presented by Wintrust will offer plenty of opportunities for fans to view the boats on land, on the water, and from anywhere else you might be but there’s not better vantage point than the East End of Navy Pier.

This Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Michigan Avenue Magazine’s Ashore Thing—presented by BMO Harris Bank—provides the perfect opportunity to see the boats pass by the Pier on their way to the start. So come on out for this family affair at Navy Pier for the perfect summer setting.

Ashore Thing is free and open to the public. Attendees can enjoy a breath-taking view and lounge in luxury while sipping Veuve Clicquot, Belvedere cocktails, or ice cold Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy and Peroni at the cash bar. Following the parade of boats, enjoy a live performance by Chicago’s hit rock ‘n’ roll musical Million Dollar Quartet and dance the afternoon away to one of Chicago’s hottest DJs!

For families, the pint-sized set may enjoy face painting, balloon artists, “Buoy Buckets”, and a plethora of other kid-friendly activities.
