Cirque du Soleil is always pushing the envelope with their acts, both physically and psychologically, and four years since their last visit to Chicago they return with an even more dazzling production in “Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities.”
This newest addition tells a tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience to a fantasy world where anything is possible. In this new realm, set in the late 19th century, reality is relative and your perception becomes transformed inside the cabinet of curiosities. The cabinet that this world exists in belongs to the Seeker who soon discovers that in order to glimpse the marvels that lie just below the surface we must first learn to close our eyes.
When a collection of otherworldly characters suddenly steps into his makeshift mechanical world, it is turned upside down with a touch of poetry and humor to ignite the Seeker’s imagination.
Come with an open mind and prepare to be wowed as some of the most talented performers in the world stage the latest in the line of productions that Cirque du Soleil have built their illustrious reputation on.
Cirque du Soleil’s “Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities” will run until Sept. 20 at the United Center located at 1901 W. Madison St. Tickets start around $35 and for more information on how to get tickets or on the production, go to cirquedusoleil.com/en/shows/kurios/default.
