The largest cider tasting in the region, Cider Summit Festival, returns to Navy Pier’s Grand Ballroom on Saturday, Feb. 27.
The Cider Summit Festival will take place in two sessions, one from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then second from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Owners and cidermakers will be on hand to inform and guide guests through the samplings, which will be available in four-ounce portions.
Cider Summit will feature more than 140 ciders including regional favorites and international classics from England, Scotland, France, and Spain. The festival will also feature specially selected food pairings in the new Cider Cocktail Lounge.
Also new this year is the Fruit Cider Challenge, where several cideries will produce pilot batches specifically for the event. Guests will vote for their favorite during the festival with the winner announced at the conclusion of the event.
All tickets will be sold in advance online at CiderSummit.com. General admission tickets are $35 and include a souvenir tasting glass, eight tasting tickets, and a one dollar donation to Heartland Alliance. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $40 and include the aforementioned in addition to express entry and two extra tasting tickets. Designated driver tickets are available day of for $5.
A separate ticket is required for each session. The event is strictly 21 and over.
