Travel back in time to the 1920s! The Press Room proceeds to astonish visitors by introducing their live music series and speakeasy, Dead Plants. Dead Plants completely transforms the joint into a speakeasy and brings guests back to the 1920s in 2020! 

With special musical performances, visitors will get a taste of what it’s like to be in a real speakeasy.There will be live music featuring Chicago artists on the second Saturday of each month.  Brandon Markell Holmes was the first musical guest on March 13th and Sam Fazio will perform jazz and pop classics on April 10th. Smokey Robinson, Al Green, and others are among the artists whose songs will be performed.

The show will take place at Dead Plants at The Press Room on the second Saturday of each month (4/10, 5/8).  Doors will open at 8:30 p.m and the show will begin at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $45 and include a 90-minute performance as well as one cocktail. The cocktail menu is filled with classics from an Old Fashioned all the way to a Jungle Bird. 

There is more than just top notch entertainment at this speakeasy! Guests can make reservations at the speakeasy every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday just to enjoy dinner and cocktails by candlelight. The doors open at 6pm and remain socially distanced. Steak Tartare and a Cheese & Charcuterie Board are just some of the delicious novitilies available on the dinner menu. The menu is filled with a variety of fine wines and cocktails. When making a dinner reservation, guests may request to buy event tickets, allowing them to enjoy dinner and a performance!  

Make a dinner reservation or request a ticket for the show by texting 872.240.2317. To ensure an intimate experience and maintain inside COVID guidelines, performances will be limited to 26 people. Anyone who requested tickets for a sold-out show will be given the opportunity to buy tickets for the next show before the general public. Check it out!
