For the seventh consecutive year, Navy Pier is proud to host Neighborhoods of the World presented by ComEd, a free seven-week series that celebrates the rich tapestry of Chicago’s diverse communities.
The program collaborates with local community arts organizations, consulates and museums to showcase the authentic cultural experience of each country.
Held every Sunday through March 26th from noon to 4 p.m., the series will spotlight a different country to celebrate and commemorate its culture and heritage with a brilliant showcase of lively folk music, traditional dance, native costumes, authentic cuisine, creative crafts, and much more.
This week, guests are invited to venture over to Navy Pier’s Crystal Gardens for a vibrant Polish celebration featuring live music and entertainment from various groups, Polish cuisine, folk art, and so much more.
Celebrate Poland’s Performing Acts include:
- 12 p.m.: Lajkonik Folk Dancers, Agnieszka Kulon Fashion Show
- 1 p.m.: Little Stars Children’s Theatre, Agnieszka Iwanska & Antykwariat Jazz Group
- 2 p.m.: Lajkonik Folk Dancers, Highlander Band, Baczynska & Czamara Fashion Show
- 3 p.m.: Polonia Folk Dancers, Wesoly Lud
Upcoming Neighborhoods of the World spotlights include: Brazil’s Carnival (Feb. 26); Italy (March 5); Lithuania (March 12); Mexico (March 19); and Greece (March 26).
