Kick off the summer street festivals with Chicago Mayfest in Lakeview. This three-day festival is in its 19th year and is always a good party that gets you outdoors with a delicious plate of food and a refreshing drink in your hand.
The cover bands are always great to catch as they let you put your arm around a friend with a beer in hand and belt out songs as if you were on stage. Whether it be the hilarious Rod Tuffcurls and The Bench Press, the always grungy Smells like Nirvana, or the country styles of Suburban Cowboys.
Families will enjoy Chicago Kids Day with kid’s Zumba and arts and crafts sessions. The parents will get some great health tips at the health and posture screenings. Those with four-legged friends can enjoy the Chicago Pet Pageant and Expo and discover new products for your pets.
