By Dustin Ford

Both Mother’s Day and Brunch are close to a century old, and perhaps that’s one of the reasons that we associate the two of them together. Brunch with the family is fun, but it can be hard to choose the right place in such a big city. If you haven’t already decided where you’ll get mom some eggs then you should consider the places in this list.

Mon Ami Gabi

This classic French bistro has a brunch selection every Sunday. Pair fresh squeezed juice or a French Blonde with Crème Brûlée French Toast or Duck Confit and Charred Zucchini. All the classic brunch favorites are here along with some fine non-breakfast entrees.

Mother’s Day Brunch at the Lincoln Park Zoo

Did you know that Elephant herds are always led by mothers? We aren’t comparing your mom to an elephant but, surely, she is running the family! Held at the Zoo’s own Café Brauer, this event’s brunch buffet comes with a wide selection of food and deserts and a free mimosa for all moms (excluding elephants, of course).

Mindy’s Hot Chocolate

Known for its hot Chocolate and deserts, this bakery has put together an exceptional brunch menu. You have cocktails like the bloody mary and mimosa, but you also have hot-chocolate-coffee-liquor hybrids!

Odyssey Brunch Cruises

Take your mom out on the water for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. Check out Chicago’s architecture while sipping cocktails and gently rocking gliding across the water. Check their website for ticketing and dining options.

Frontier

Known for cooking the entire animal in a banquet, this restaurant brings Louisiana cooking to Chicago. This brunch special includes benedicts, bagels, beignets, smoked ham, smoked salmon platter, fresh fruit, house potatoes and a free mimosa for moms.
