The shining suns means the food trucks are back, and you can enjoy them and get to know the Pilsen neighborhood at the Pilsen Food Truck Social.
Make sure to go on an empty stomach as 25 food trucks from the Illinois Food Truck Owners Association along with eateries from the Pilsen area will be serving up delicious, belly-patting food. Good luck choosing between spicy sesame fries from The Fat Shallot, malbec beef empanadas from 5411 Empanadas, or the mango chutney and cilantro mayo lobster roll from Da Lobsta. Pilsen’s newly-opened Azul18 along with fan favorite Dia De Los Tamales, and Honky Tonk BBQ will also be serving food.
Along with the food explore the many Pilsen art, craft, and retail vendors selling their products. In addition, Revolution Brewing and Thalia Hall have curated a great group of musical acts and DJs like CumbiaSazo, Sonorama, and Vockha Redu.
The Pilsen Food Truck Social takes place June 6 – 7 from 11:00 a.m. — 10:00 p.m. on 18th Street between Racine Ave. and Throop St. There is a suggested donation of $5 and you can purchase a sampler ticket of $20. For more information visit pilsenfoodtrucksocial.com.
