From special prix fixe menus to lavish buffet spreads, there are lots of delicious options when it comes to dining out during the holidays. Here’s a look at five restaurants that are open on Christmas Eve and or Day.

Maple & Ash

To celebrate Christmas Eve, Maple & Ash will offer their nightly dinner menu beginning at noon on Dec. 24 for those looking to enjoy the holidays with favorites such as the Fire Roasted Seafood Tower, dry-aged steaks, or ricotta agnolotti, or guests may let Maple & Ash take care of them with the 4-course, chef-selected IDGAF menu. If you’re looking for a last minute Christmas Day gift, make sure to check out their custom knives or the holiday wine gift sets curated by Head Sommelier, Dan Pilkey, at the restaurant’s retail counter.

Remington’s

Remington’s will be open on Dec. 24 for brunch and dinner from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Remington’s will offer classic American menu favorites including The Remington 18-oz dry aged prime bone in strip; Short Rib with roasted heirloom carrots and braised cipolinni onion; the Chicken Dip Sandwich with rotisserie chicken, jack cheese, mayo, tomato, onion, arugula and chicken au jus and more.The last dinner reservation is at 7 p.m. and can be made by calling 312-782-6000.

Catch 35

Celebrate Christmas Eve with Catch 35’s 3-course, $37 prix fixe menu. The first course is a choice of soup or salad, second course offers a choice of one of Catch 35’s signature dishes, with the third course being a choice of one option from their dessert menu. Plus, Catch 35’s regular menu will be available featuring Alaskan king crab, Maine lobster, New York strip, and prime bone in ribeye.

Tortoise Club

Tortoise Supper Club will be open on Dec. 24 from 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. In addition to the regular a la carte dinner menu, Executive Chef Aaron Browning will be serving up a number of special limited-edition dishes.  Indulge in an order of double cut lamb chops served with a housemade mint jelly or try their popular roast duck, which is prepared in a Berghoff Root Beer glaze and served with wild rice stuffing and a lingonberry gastrique.  No matter what you order for dinner you’ll definitely want to save room for dessert.  Tortoise Club will be serving a number of their signature pies – like the Tortoise Pie made with chocolate, candied walnuts, bourbon, caramel sauce and whipped Cream – that are sure to send you to bed with visions of sugar plums dancing in your head. 

Mercat a la Planxa

This Christmas, the South Loop restaurant celebrates the holidays with some decadent Spanish-inspired offerings by Barcelona native Chef Diego Amat. Mercat will offer a holiday brunch service as well as a festive dinner for guests. Some menu highlights include a salad with cured duck magret, foie gras shavings, spiced bread, and a pomegranate vinaigretteas well as a floral lychee and rose cheesecake. The Christmas menu is offered starting at 3 p.m. on Dec. 25. Brunch is also available from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Christmas morning. Guests can make reservations by calling 312.765.0524

Why not make it dinner and a show?
