Summer Fireworks, Free Live Music, and More at Navy Pier

Share
It is always a sure sign of summer in Chicago when Navy Pier opens its popular Miller Lite Beer Garden and kicks off its iconic Aon Summer Fireworks for the season. Running now through Labor Day Weekend, both events are free and open to the public as part of the Pier’s free year-round programming.

So this week, why not venture to Navy Pier to enjoy the sights and sounds of Live on the Lake!, the Pier’s free music and dance series held in the Miller Lite Beer Garden. With a wide selection of entertainment, food, MillerCoors products and more, Live on the Lake! is the ideal summer activity for families, friends and couples enjoying date night. New this year, Navy Pier has teamed up with local music organizations, such as Buddy Guy’s Legends and Old Town School of Folk Music, to present a talented lineup of artists and electrifying performances that encapsulate the spirt and diversity of Chicago’s rich music history

Live on the Lake!

Every Wednesday, enjoy the soothing sounds of classic blues, courtesy of Buddy Guy’s Legends. On Thursdays, learn to move and groove to different music styles at Pier Dance, a weekly instructional dance series set against the stunning backdrop of the lake and city skyline. Fridays and Saturdays are set to offer various genres of music each week – including country, pop, R&B, reggae and rock, with The Rolling Stones cover bands featured on select days through July 30 to coincide with Exhibitionism – The Rolling Stones in Navy Pier’s Festival Hall B – and Sundays will spotlight prominent local artists from the Old Town School of Folk Music. The full schedule for Live on the Lake! can be found online.

Aon Summer Fireworks at Navy Pier

Also returning to the summer lineup this year is Aon Summer Fireworks, Navy Pier’s signature music synced fireworks series offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., respectively. Catch the spectacular display of light and color illuminating Chicago’s night sky from anywhere on the Pier starting Saturday, May 27. Every Saturday through July 30, the fireworks will be synchronized to The Rolling Stones soundtracks to once again give a nod to Exhibitionism – The Rolling Stones at Navy Pier.
