Share

Navy Pier is hosting the inaugural Celebrate Brazil’s Carnival on Sunday, Feb. 26, as a continuation of its free-admission, seventh annual Neighborhoods of the World cultural celebration.

To help get guests in the spirit of Brazil, Navy Pier will also host a special samba dance edition of Resolution Revolution, on Thursday, Feb. 23. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., renowned samba legend Edilson Lima will teach a Brazilian fitness class for experienced samba aficionados and beginning dancers alike.

From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, guests are invited to enjoy an animated celebration of Brazilian culture with live entertainment from Chicago’s leading Brazilian groups, including the Cecy Santana Band, Chicago Choro Club, Chicago Samba Band and more. Guests can partake in Carnival traditions including dance, a parade and traditional cuisine. Sinha Brazilian Cuisine will provide food for purchase, while the popular Brazilian cocktail, caipirinhas, will be served at the bar.

This year’s series includes tributes to cultures of China, Poland, Brazil, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico and Greece. For more information on Neighborhoods of the World, visit www.navypier.com.
