What to Do in Lakeview

Grab a bite. Do some shopping. Take a stroll. Welcome to Lakeview. This northside neighborhood welcomes you to explore their restaurants, shops, and more. If you’re looking for a new, fun experience, Lakeview has something for you from sunrise to sun down.

Start of your day with a warm cup of joe. Lakeview has dozens of local coffee shops to choose from, take for example, Osmium Coffee Bar. They take their coffee seriously. Try their Barrel Aged Mocha or their Agave latte for a refreshing and sweet treat. True coffee fanatics need to stop by the famous Coffee and Tea Exchange to get their hands of the freshest products. Just open the doors, and you can just smell the coffee beans. Buy a bag to take home, and you can enjoy a bit of Lakeview every day.

Once your coffee of choice is secure, bring that warm cup along for a stroll at Hamlin Park. There’s nothing like an autumn breeze and falling leaves while holding a warm latte. Hamlin Park is a Chicago Park District with open grass area, perfect to take in the fall scenery. With some good company, enjoy a morning ball toss or fetch with your furry friend.

Local shops also offer a day of exploring and supporting small businesses. Lakeview is home to The Inkling Shop, which isn’t your usual gift shop. They bring together quirky gifts and fun greeting cards, all while featuring local artists and their products. Whether you’re looking for stickers, candles, or novel scarves, they’ve got you covered. However, if you’re looking to add unique new items to your closet, you can visit Ragstock, which offers vintage clothing for men and women.

A visit wouldn’t be complete without grabbing a bite to eat. This neighborhood has delicious, mouth watering options to try. Crosby’s Kitchen is a Lakeview favorite, offering comfort food on another level! Try their favorite wood roasted chicken and biscuits or their BBQ babyback ribs. If you want to take-out a bite to eat, Crisp is one of many restaurants offering to-go or counter service. Crisp gives a twist on Korean dishes such as fried rice, vegetable bowls and ramen. You have many options to choose from, and they will not disappoint.

Sweets are definitely a must for any day out. After filling up on a meal, don’t be scared to indulge in some dessert. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, a rustic-modern shop, offers ice cream, sorbets and frozen yogurts in fun flavors. But Lakeview has more than ice cream to offer, Jenivee’s Bakery has awesome baked goods for all ages. Just open the doors to this bakery, you’ll be greeted with stands of cupcakes, breakfast pasties, brownies and more. They make specialty cakes and desserts that will leave your sweet tooth happy.

Lakeview is another Chicago gem just waiting to be explored. With so much to do, a day is well spent with some good company at Lakeview. But don’t just take our word for it. Visit the shops, grab some grub and explore. Chicagoans never scare away from some exploration, and this neighborhood is waiting for you.
