Neighborhood festivals are a great way to get to know Chicago out of the Loop. These two festivals will welcome you to festival season.
MayFest
May 19–21
3100 N. Ashland Ave.
Admission: $10
Kick off the summer street festivals with Chicago Mayfest in Lakeview. This three-day festival celebrates its 22nd birthday, and is always a good party that gets you outdoors with a delicious plate of food and a refreshing drink in your hand. The cover bands are always great to catch as they let you put your arm around a friend with a beer in hand and belt out songs as if you were on stage. Families will also enjoy Chicago Kids Day filled with learning opportunities and a lot of fun.
