Lots of Laughs with The Second City

If there’s something everyone needs right now is a laugh!Having been the home and kickstarter for multiple notable comedians over the years such as Donald Adams, Phatt Al, Rose Abdoo, and Christina Anthony, The Second City is your go-to place in the city for comedic relief and an overall good time. 

Although The Second City is not currently hosting shows in person until further notice, they have made it easier than ever and given fans plenty of options to still enjoy some comedy. One of the most popular events has been their Happy Hour Live online event which features Second City’s funniest talent along with some notable alumni streaming their own reactions to the shows. T Each Happy Hour features different talent from the Second City lineup where you will be able to interact with the certified “Laugh-tenders” with interactive games, special guests, music, sketches, and viewer suggested improv. 

What’s better than a debate between comedians? The Second City’s new online show Black and White News: The Plan! gives a different perspective, talking about some of the uncomfortable yet unavoidable stuff in a way that will be sure to have you in tears. Hosted by Terrence Carey and Atra Asdou, the virtual comedy style news show will have you in tears..

Online Classes

Not only is Second City Chicago’s most infamous comedy club, they have also become the largest school of improvisation and sketch comedy in the world. Welcoming all who have the desire to take their comedic abilities to the next level from amateurs to professionals. 

The classes offered range from Improv, Comedy Writing, Acting, to Public Speaking and much more. Currently all classes being offered have moved online requiring only an internet connection and a device with a camera. Each class will take your through the introductory aspects and taking your skills as far as you want them to. 

Comedy doesn’t have an age range, so if you’re looking to get into comedy and take part in any of the classes offered but do not meet the age requirements, Second City offers classes for all ages with their Kid Programs. Classes taught for kids and teens to enjoy, classes are led by performers and instructors who have previous experience working with younger students.
