Chicago finally felt a hint of winter this past weekend, and it’s perfect for the kick off of the holiday season at the BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival.

The BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival returns to flip the switch on the over one million lights on the trees on Michigan Ave. from Oak Street to Wacker Drive. The 1.2 million spectators will watch as Mickey and Minnie Mouse light the mile in a parade of helium balloons of some of your favorite characters along with some of your favorite entertainers including Drew Lachey, “America’s Got Talent” finalist The Remedy, Blue Man Group, Forever In Your Mind, Jo Dee Messina, MARi Burelle, Lexi Walker, and Kurt Elling.

The festival has stretched into an extra day with the addition of Lights Festival Lane at Pioneer Court. Various companies will have giveaways, samples, games, and more for the public to enjoy. Make sure to say hi Edison the reindeer and talk to Santa at the “Hi Santa” Phone Booth, get an interactive virtual experience and write a 3D message at the BMO Harris Bank Dome, decorate a free cheesecake slice from Eli’s Cheesecake, get a complimentary treat size bag of the Garrett Mix® from Garrett Popcorn Shops, and experience much more at the Lights Festival Lane.

The BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival is Nov. 18–19 on Michigan Ave. from Oak St. to Wacker Dr. The Lights Festival Lane starts Nov. 18 from 4 p.m.—8 p.m. at Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Ave. It continues the next day from 11 a.m.—4 p.m. The parade kicks off Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m., and the fireworks show at 6:55 p.m. occurs at North Michigan Ave. and the Chicago River.
