We’ve searched high and low for the best ways to celebrate a month dedicated to delicious meat! Whether you’re looking for some traditional pulled pork or a filling ribeye, you’ll leave these restaurants satisfied. Barbecue on carnivores. 

PB&J – 205 N Peoria 

Believe it or not, PB&J isn’t famous for the pairing of peanut butter and jelly. Don’t be deceived, because they know their ribs! Every Wednesday, PB&J serves locally sourced BBQ ribs served in orders of two, half rack, and full rack. Grab a bite of corn-bread for the ultimate pairing. If you’re looking for other barbeque options, their BBQ Mother Clucker Pizza is a mouth waterer. Topped with smoked BBQ chicken, pickled red onion, mozzarella and cilantro, it’ll leave every taste bud satisfied. They also offer their Smoked BBQ Sandwich featuring a house smoked pork belly, dill pickle, crispy onions on brioche bun. With their delicious food and fun atmosphere, you’ll be sure to return. 

FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar – 221 N Columbus Drive 

For the best wood-fired cooking, grab a group of friends and head over to FireLake Grill. Their menu features the best meat, freshwater fish and produce in the Midwest. Their acclaimed grill concept is a game changer. Cherry, mapple, apple and mesquite woods are used on a rotating basis in the smoker to create an unbeatable slow cooked brisket, wigs, sausage, bacon and mesquite smoked ribs. If that isn’t enough flavor for you, they also offer their Coffee-rubbed smoked brisket, featuring a smoked almond sauce, served with green chile cheese grits and tobacco onions. Other menu items include their smoked hickory chicken wings, paired with barbecue sauce, fried brussels sprouts, and jalapeños, as well as their smoked cauliflower bisque paired with white cheddar gougeres. Gemini – 2075 N. Lincoln

Visit Lincoln Park’s very own gem of a restaurant: Gemini. Among the many delicious menu items, their Big Ern’s Smoked Baby Back Ribs are served every Sunday. Talk about treating yourself on the weekend! Created by Executive Chef Ernesto Ozuna himself, their specialty ribs are perfectly served with homemade cornbread, fresh coleslaw, cowboy baked beans, french fries, and a side of their Big Ern’s secret BBQ sauce. A chef can’t give up all his secrets. This meal serves two guests for $55 and 20% of each dish will be donated to the Green City Market. Gemini is not only dedicated to serving Chicagoans taste buds, but also local farmers within the Chicago community.

El Che –  845 W Washington

Known for their unique spin on Argentinian BBQ, EL Che provides a cultural experience to our beloved city. They bring their delicious barbeque to you in two ways: their patio take-out options and their new shop El Che Meat and Provisions.  Cooked straight from the grill, their Smoked Baby Back Ribs, served with mustard ‘Q’, caraway slaw and dill, are sure to leave you satisfied. Other menu items include their Grilled Quail, served with chimichurri rojo, ciabatta crouton giardiniera and oregano, and their Grilled Asparagus with poblano buttermilk dressing, cotija and radish. If that sounds like a mouth-full, it’s because it is! Explore all the flavors this city has to offer.

Funkenhausen – 1709 W Chicago Ave

Experience a little slice of Germany with a pinch of South Carolina by visiting Funkenhausen. The vast flavor combinations and creativity will certainly leave you wanting more. Treat yourself with Funkenhausen’s Big As Funk 16-oz wood grilled ribeye. The fired up slagel beef has a herb crust, slathered in sauerbraten beef jus and horsey sauce. Order with haus favorites like the charred broccolini, sweet corn and haus fried for a barbeque meal you can’t find anywhere else! Why not pair the dish with a drink? Choose from their list of beers, wines or cocktails for the perfect meal. 

The Smith – 400 N Clark St.

The American brasserie in River North was founded on a simple mission to make people happy. Doing just that, The Smith fires up classic steaks including an NY Strip, Bone in Ribeye, Filet Mignon and the signature The Smith Bar Steak all served with fried or field greens and choice of chimichurri or green peppercorn sauce. Dine al-fresco on the new extended patio located on Clark St. However, you can’t have the full Smith experience without having some after dinner drinks. Come for the steaks, stay for the drinks. 

Crosby’s Kitchen– 3455 N Southport Ave

The perfect place for a family dinner, Crosby’s Kitchen guarantees a delicious meal for everyone. Their wide-selection of menu dishes has something for you, your spouse, kids, and parents. Some of their notable signature dishes include their BBQ’D Baby Back ribs, available if both a half or full slab, and their NY strip steak salad. Bring the kids and let them enjoy their chicken tenders or grilled cheese while you indulge in a slab of barbecued ribs.
