Chicago Air & Water Show

About:

You don’t want to miss one of the biggest Chicago summer events….the Air and Water Show! Watch the U.S Navy Blue Angels, the Royal Air Force Red Arrows and other Military Teams zoom over Lake Michigan from the skies! The majority of the planes take off and land at the Gary Jet Center in Gary Indiana and schedule their flight time down to the exact minute! No need to worry about costs because all admission is free!

When:

The official start of the show is Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18. The National Anthem commences at 10am signaling the start of the show; all shows are scheduled to go until 3pm. Over 2 million plus people are estimated to watch this event, so if you are looking to beat the crowds the practice run of the show is Friday August 16!

Where:

The planes can be viewed anywhere on the Lakefront from Oak Street Beach to Fullerton or on North Avenue and Ohio Street Beach.

Tips:

Make sure to arrive early to get the best spot if your planning on heading over to the beaches! Bring blankets, coolers, beach chairs, sunscreen and whatever else you need to make your day perfect!

You can always watch the event broadcasted livestream on WBBM News radio 780 or 105.9!
