Catch BYOB Musical Comedies from VAMP at MCL

There’s no need to break the bank to have a laugh and cocktails with friends with MCL Chicago’s new VAMP shows.

MCL’s most popular show, “VAMP: A Musical Comedy Drinking Show” is now in an open run every Friday and Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. Conceptualized by Brandon C. Price and Keenan Camp, “VAMP: A Musical Comedy Drinking Show” is a short-form musical form in the style of “Who’s Line Is It Anyway,” but every player is Wayne Brady. Since it’s debut in July of 2014, VAMP has grown in popularity with a rotating cast of 17 actors and six musicians, called Vampers, that now perform hilarious musicals in front of sold-out crowds weekly. The cast of musically talented comedians act out a multitude of characters, scenes, songs, and dancing all based on audience suggestions. It is impossible to see the same show twice and what keeps the regulars coming back for a night of side-hurting hilarious fun that will not break the bank.

New to the MCL Stage on Friday nights in February is “VAMP: Comedy Cabaret” produced by MCL Chicago and VAMP Chicago teams. “VAMP: Comedy Cabaret” is a hilarious and sultry reinvention of the classic cabaret. It’s the perfect way to start your weekend with BYOB cocktails, music comedy games, and special comedic guests. “VAMP: Comedy Cabaret” is at 8 p.m. every Friday through the end of February. Make it a full night of comedy by seeing both “VAMP: Comedy Cabaret” at 8 p.m. and “VAMP: A Musical Comedy Drinking Show” at 10:30 p.m. in the same night and receive the student ticket rate for both shows— an $8 savings.

Have not yet, but just looked it up and looks fun. See it’s playing on March 19 after selling out three shows last year. Have to make it up there! Thanks for the heads-up.
