With spring cleaning you’ve surely made room in your house and closets to add some cool pieces to your wardrobe, living rooms, and bedrooms. Fill the space with unique items from the Vintage Garage.
Help in Uptown, Vintage Garage doesn’t get its name because it sounds retro but because it’s actually held inside of a parking garage. The first two floors are littered with 100 vendors from throughout the Midwest selling their mid-century items. Shoppers will find clothing, jewelry, furniture, decor, records, and more. While the focus is on antiques, vendors are also allowed to include up to 20 percent of new and handmade items in their booths.
The sellers aren’t always small companies but sometimes just people with an estate they need to liquidate, which provides for friendly experiences and interesting items. So make sure you get there early to get a good parking spot and get first pick of all the great items the vendors at Vintage Garage offer. While some vendors will accept credit cards, make sure to bring cash just in case you find that must-have item from a vendor who only accepts cash. In addition, Vintage Garage allows the opportunity to negotiate prices so don’t be afraid to do so within reason.
Vintage Garage runs the third Sunday of every month from April 17–October 16 from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. It is located at the parking garage at 5051 N. Broadway St. Admission is $5. For more information visit vintagegaragechicago.com.
