There’s no better way to start 2016 than with the 15th Annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival.
The festival dwarfs all others with over 10,000 guests and 165 sketch groups performing 186 shows in eight days. As a city with comedy institutions like Second City, iO, and ComedySportz, groups jump at the opportunity to perform at the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival. Nationally-renowned groups like Siblings of Doctors, which features Danny Pudi from NBC’s “Community,” Heavy Weight, featuring T.J. Miller from HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” and New York’s FUCT will surely bring gut-busting laughs to audiences.
Don’t miss amazing local acts like the tim&micah project, The Cupid Players, and Rabbit Rabbit.
When Brian Posen’s musical failed to launch at the Theater Building Chicago he kept his commitment with the venue and put on the first Chicago Sketch Fest in it’s place in 2002. Initially running for seven weeks, the event now takes place over two weekends and the name changed to Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival.
The 14th Annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival runs through Jan. 18 at Stage 773 located at 1225 W. Belmont Ave. For schedules and ticket information visit chicagosketchfest.com.
