10 of Chicago’s Best Make at Home Cocktail Kits during COVID-19


What better time to bring out your inner mixologist while in quarantine? Sure, we all love going to our favorite Chicago bars and restaurants during happy hour but what if you could bring happy hour right to your own home. Here is a list of ten bars and restaurants offering pickup or delivery options for you to create their signature cocktails while supporting the restaurant business at the same time.  


This upscale South Loop restaurant is not only serving their Michelin-Starred contemporary cuisine for curbside pickup but also offers a full range of booze to add to your cart. Acadia is offering everything from beer, to bottles of wine, vodka, gin and tequila but most importantly their two sets of cocktail kits. Their Eagle Rare Old Fashioned Kit consists of 1 bottle of Bourbon complemented with mix-ins like Demerara sugar infused with sour cherry and kola nut is being sold for $70 a kit , while the Lime Gin Martini Kit includes a bottle of Gin with Ferdinand’s German Riesling Dry Vermouth and Lemon & Lime Bitters for $60.   

The Aviary 

Bring this swanky West Loop cocktail lounge home with their Aviary Cocktail Kit for $72. With enough ingredients to make six to eight Tropical Whiskey Sours for you to enjoy right in the comfort of your own home during the Shelter in place period, the kit comes with the grenadine syrup filled with passion fruit, pomegranate, apple, cherry and a spice mix.  In order to get yours you will have to order takeout services from either Next, Roister, or Alinea and select a pickup time and add in the cocktail kit.  

Bar Biscay 

This West Town restaurant is here for all of our basic needs when it comes to keeping our pantry stocked with groceries, wine, beer, prepared family styled meals, sundries, dry goods and more! In addition to their online shop, they also feature three different cocktail kits to choose from such as the Manhattan Kit for $55, the Mimosa Kit for $25 and the Negroni Kit for $70 to create your own happy hour in the convenience of your own kitchen. 

Big Star 

Don’t worry, Big Star is here to get you through each day of quarantine with their famous margaritas and Old Fashioneds to-go. For $50, their house margaritas kit can make up to 14 servings that includes one bottle of tequila, orange liqueur and 1 quart of house margarita mix. They also have available for purchase six packs of beer, Buffalo Trace bourbon and as you guessed, their delicious tacos too.  

Club Lucky 

This Italian restaurant and cocktail lounge located in Bucktown is infamous for their martinis so what better way to get your hands on one while at home than with their package fixings of “Quarantinis”. With a purchase of a food item you can either pick up or have your Club Lucky Signature Cocktail kit delivered which includes a liter bottle of Club Lucky’s Signature vodka and a carton of homemade blue cheese stuffed olives or picked gibson onions.  

II Porcellino 

 II Porcellino, located in the heart of River North serves classic Italian-American food from pastas to meat entrees but what better way to pair that with their two at home bar essential kits. Bring this River North Tiki den right to your own home with their to-go booze menu. For $8 each, there are a handful of bottled cocktails to pick from or you may resort to having fun with your own Mai Tai cocktail set that makes up to 4 cocktails and comes with 2 Mai Tai glasses for $45.  Place your orders through GrubHub. 

The Violet Hour 

Located in Wicker Park this stylish bar is known for their creative cocktails and chill vibes that you can bring right to your own living room. You can choose from three cocktail kits, the Negroni, Old Fashioned or Juliet & Romeo, all that come with a full size bottle of booze and all the ingredients for you to shake up these first-class cocktails at home. Grab these cocktail kits without even having to get out of your car at the Big Star’s grab and go window!
