Santa Clauses are Running to Town at Chicago’s 5k Santa Hustle

Share

Santa Clauses are coming to town on December 1st as Chicago hosts The 2018 Santa Hustle 5k. This years Santa Hustle will be in support of Bear Necessities, Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Bear Necessities is a National Organization that dedicates itself to eliminating and helping those affected by pediatric cancer. To help, instead of bringing a toy to the race, they will have a gift card tree. They recommend you bring a gift card from any gas company, Meijer, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Buy Buy Baby etc. to help the families out with costs of food, gas and gifts.

The race will begin at 9 a.m. on December 1st at Soldier Field following up with an After Party at select locations at Navy Pier. The race will be open to all participants with the option to run a half 5k, or a full. All participants will receive a Santa hat, beard, a sweatshirt to run in as well as a 5k finisher medal. They will also have an option for kids to join in on the fun with the 1-Mile Rudolph Run. The kids run will kick off at 8:30 a.m. and they will also receive a Santa hat and beard, a racing bib, and a finisher ribbon. Not a runner? No problem. The Santa Hustle will be seeking volunteers to help out at packet pick-up, pass out cookies, candy and water along the race course, as well as be a course marshal. All volunteers will also receive a elf hat and shirt so that runners can spot you from the crowd along the course. For more information on how to volunteer, click here.
