Rides and Attractions at Navy Pier

Chicago’s number one tourist destination, Navy Pier offers a plethora of family-friendly things to do. Whether you’re looking to take the Ferris wheel in Pier Park or enjoy the art and greenery of Gateway Park, here’s some top rides and attractions at the Pier.

Pier Park

Located between the Crystal Gardens and the Pepsi Skyline Stage is Pier Park. This beautifully landscaped outdoor area is home to the 150-foot-high Ferris wheel, a musical carousel, an old-fashioned swing ride, and an 18-hole miniature golf course.

Chicago Children’s Museum

The Chicago Children’s Museum houses three floors of play with 15 permanent exhibits and programming spaces. The most popular of these include the Dinosaur Expedition where kids dig for dinosaur bones, Water Ways where the wonders of water are showcased, and Play It Safe which promotes fire safety.

Amazing Chicago Funhouse Maze

This self-paced, walk-through attraction challenges guests to stomp, spin, twist and turn their way through 4,000-square-feet worth of sensory experiences.

Transporter FX

Transporter FX, located along Navy Pier’s Dock Street, is just $6 per person and enables ‘riders’ to embark on a high-speed motion thrill ride to such far-flung destinations as Antarctica, the Moon or even the Grand Prix. The choice is yours and it’s guaranteed to be a thrilling adventure!

Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows

Enjoy 150 stained glass windows housed in an 800-foot-long series of galleries along the lower level terraces of Festival Hall. Visitors will see famous projects from well-known artists including Louis Comfort Tiffany and John LaFarge. Admission to the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows is free, and it is open daily during Navy Pier’s operating hours.

Other fun attractions include Absolutely Chicago Segway Tours (now departing from Navy Pier) and Navy Pier’s various boat cruises and boat tours.
