Enjoy the 2013 Fourth of July Fireworks at Chicago’s Famous Navy Pier

Think of all the major holidays. Chances are almost all of us have a distinct memory of each of these celebrations from our past, whether it’s the first Christmas with the kids, the unforgettable Labor Day picnic with friends, or your first Valentine’s Day with the love of your life. The holidays are full of these precious memories, and the Fourth of July is no different. Make this a holiday to remember by bringing your friends, family, and loved ones to Chicago’s historic Navy Pier to celebrate the Independence Day of our great nation with one of the most picturesque backdrops imaginable under the Chicago cityscape and over magnificent Lake Michigan. Constructed in 1916, Chicago’s Navy Pier is a monument of Chicago’s past and a favorite destination for residents and visitors to the city. The fireworks display starts off at 9:30 p.m., so make this the Fourth of July to remember in 2013 and get on down to Navy Pier.

Plenty to Eat and Drink at Navy Pier

Don’t worry about packing food for the big event. Come down early and enjoy dinner and drinks at any of the great bars and restaurants that Navy Pier has to offer. Bubba Gump’s Shrimp, Harry Caray's Tavern, and the Riva Crab House are just a few of the great places you can go and enjoy a good dinner at Navy Pier. You can also get burgers, bratwurst, Italian sausage, pizza and more at the Navy Pier Landshark Beer Garden, but even if you’ve already had dinner the Beer Garden provides patrons with an incredible front row seat to sit and enjoy the fireworks along with a selection of great import, domestic, and local micro and craft beers so you can enjoy a cold one and raise a glass to the U.S.A.

Take a Ride on the Ferris Wheel

Navy Pier is known around the world for its iconic Ferris wheel, so take a ride up to the sky and watch as the fireworks flicker off Chicago’s beautiful skyline and upon the waters of Lake Michigan.

Enjoy the Fireworks All Summer Long

Even if you can’t make it down to Navy Pier for the Fourth of July fireworks and festivities, you’ll still get a chance to see them. The fireworks will be lighting off over the city all summer long, every Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. and every Saturday night starting at 10:15 p.m., so get on down when you have a free night and watch Chicago’s beautiful skyline turn into something truly special.

Take Advantage of Chicago’s Festivities All Summer Long

It’s known around the world that Midwesterners celebrate summer like no other region. When winter’s done and the trees are in bloom, the city really comes to life with a large number of festivals and events.
