One of Navy Pier’s most unique, annual winter events is Chicago Snow Days, which takes place from January 25 through 27 at Gateway Park. The event is free and open to the public, and features teams of artists from all around the globe. Their canvas is ten foot blocks of man made snow, which they gather together to sculpt beautiful masterpieces from.

Snow Days Festivities

Snow Days is literally a celebration surrounding snow. At Snow Days Chicago, you can view the fantastic performance as the professional “snow artists” create incredible, life-size art at the annual winter fest in Gateway Park. Although the snow sculptures will stay on display for a limited time after the Snow Days event, there is nothing like watching an artist at work, especially when the medium is snow!

The event is also highlighted by many other activities. Each day there will be dog sled racing demonstrations and a snowboard competition. Family entertainment and much more will also be a part of the festival. For times, visit the website, or call 312-744-3315.

Navy Pier is Your Destination for Year-Round Entertainment, Dining and Shopping

Historic Navy Pier keeps a full schedule of special events, concerts, and shows all year, including seasonal and holiday related attractions. Located just off the Magnificent Mile on beautiful Lake Michigan, Navy Pier is open year-round, and there is always something for everyone. A wide range of retail stores at your disposal, not to mention an exceptional variety of dining choices from casual to fine dining, as well as pubs and fast-food. It also houses The Children’s Museum, and two incredible theaters: a premiere IMAX Theater and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, featuring world class plays and productions.

All year-round touring options include architectural boat and walking tours as well as bike and Segway tours of Chicago. The 150-foot-high historic Ferris Wheel, inspired by the first Ferris Wheel of the 1893 world’s fair held in Chicago is open all year (weather permitting), as well as a giant musical carousel, and an 18 holes miniature golf course, and many other seasonally open outdoor rides.
