There are plenty of family-friendly things to do at Navy Pier, here’s a look at 15 must-see attractions

Every Friday and Saturday through Labor Day weekend, discover something fresh and new at the Dock Street Stage. From jugglers to magicians, choral groups to dance troupes, there's always something happening. Best of all? They’re all free!

Through September 5th, Cirque Shanghai tumbles into Navy Pier at the Pepsi Skyline Stage. The all new, awe-inspiring Cirque Shanghai Extreme is a spectacle for all ages and features action-packed and death-defying acts of all sorts.

Head over to Pier Park and hop on board the Pier’s most widely-recognized attraction: the 50-foot Ferris wheel. Towering over the docks, your tykes are sure to delight in the grandiose views of the skyline and lake.

A dizzying walk through the history of Chicago at the Amazing Chicago’s Funhouse Maze will tickle young funny bones, while the Chicago Children’s Museum offers kids three stories of imaginative play. Whether it’s climbing on a ship and hiding in a tree house or taking part in the ultimate fort-building experience, young children will have the time of their lives!

Chicago’s lakefront is a biker’s paradise! Join in Bike Chicago’s Amazing Lakefront Bike Tour for an urban safari covering everything from the city’s beaches and lagoons to animals and architecture.

Roll through historic sites with Absolutely Chicago Segway Tours, now departing from Navy Pier.

Audiences of all ages will be enchanted as The Adventures of Pinocchio springs to life with inventive puppetry, transforming the Chicago Shakespeare Courtyard Theater into a larger-than-life, European marionette stage. Performances run through August 28th.

With prime real estate at the entrance of Navy Pier and just feet from the Chicago Children’s Museum, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. has a welcoming and fun atmosphere and a menu that’ll please even the pickiest of eaters.

No trip to the pier is complete without a sweet treat from Garrett Popcorn Shops. A local tradition since 1949, make sure to try the salty-sweet perfection that is the “Chicago Mix”, a CarmelCrisp and CheeseCorn combo that will have you hooked for life! The Haagen-Dazs Café offers their world-famous ice cream with ample seating outside on the patio, giving tired little legs a rest without compromising the view!

For a larger-than-life cinematic experience, Navy Pier’s IMAX Theater is showing a whole slew of youngster-centric 3D flicks including Cars 2: An IMAX 3D Experience (opening June 24); Transformers: Dark of the Moon (opening July 1); and Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows Part II (opening July 15).

Four maritime beauties will drop anchor at Navy Pier August 11-14 as a Taste of Tall Ships® Chicago returns! Families may enjoy dockside boarding and sail-aways during these vessels’ four-day stay.

Look up and say ooh, aah as Navy Pier’s Summer Fireworks will light up your night with color and sound all summer long! These spectacular shows are synchronized to the music and begin every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10:15 p.m.
