Did you know that Navy Pier offers free summer fireworks? So look up and say ooh, aah as Navy Pier’s Summer Fireworks will light up your night with color and sound all summer long! These spectacular shows are synchronized to the music and begin every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10:15 p.m. There are also many Navy Pier boat cruises that hit the water offering amazing views of the Navy Pier Fireworks.
Stained Glass Museum Navy Pier
The free Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows is located inside Festival Hall on Navy Pier. The museum features a series of galleries with religious inspired works and glorious Tiffany pieces that feature rich colors and intricate designs. There’s even stained glass that features images of Chicago icons like Michael Jordan! See if you can find him amidst the impressive collection.
Navy Pier Ferris Wheel
While you may have heard about the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel, did you know that it dates back to 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition and was actually invented here in Chicago? So head over to Pier Park and hop on board the Pier’s most widely-recognized attraction: the 50-foot Ferris wheel.
