Navy Pier Restaurant Specials

Written by  Elizabeth Pierson

For visitors and locals, Navy Pier is often fondly regarded as the epitome of Chicago tourism, complete with boat rides, numerous attractions, outdoor entertainment, an IMAX theatre and more. But this amusement hotspot is also home to some of Chicago’s most favorite—and most famous—eateries suited for any palate, budget or occasion.

Riva Crab House

Cuisine type: Seafood, Classy

Price Range: $$$ ($7-$21 lunch items, $21-$55 dinner entrees)

Order this: a table by the window with a view of the skyline at sunset and anything seafood—steamed black mussels for an appetizer and Riva Lobster Diavolo for the entree

Also try: Riva’s for lunch—a Crab Cake Sandwich or classic Haddock Fish & Chips

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

Cuisine type: Southern Seafood, Cajun

Price Range: $$ ($10-$24)

Order this: a giant bucket of Peel’n’Eat shrimp makes the Shrimper’s Net Catch an original appetizer to share with the whole family

Also try: a southern favorite Sweet Tea Cooler (comes in original, peach and mango) and, for the little ones, a Build Your Own Sundae dessert!

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Bar & Grill

Price Range: $$

Order this: the Key Lime Pie is a classic to Buffett’s native Southern Florida and there’s nothing like bringing a little of that tropical flavor to the Midwest

Also try: anything inspired by one of his songs, like the four-pound Volcano Nachos or the Cheeseburger in Paradise, complete with a cold draft beer

Billy Goat Tavern

Cuisine type: American, Dive Bar

Price Range: $

Order this: Double Cheeseburger – Perhaps their most famed menu item, a trip to Chicago would not be complete without tasting this “cheezborger, cheezeborger”

Also try: fellow Chicago classics such as the Corned Beef or Italian Beef sandwiches.

Capi’s Italian Kitchen

Cuisine type: Classic Italian

Price Range: $ ($8-$15)

Order this: Penne Santorini – A staff favorite on the menu and a unique blend of onions, rosemary and sundried tomatoes true to this restaurant’s traditional Italian roots.

Also try: one of their stone oven pizza specialties or, for the picky eaters, create your own!

Harry Caray’s Tavern

Cuisine type: All-American

Price Range: $$ ($11-$30)

Order this: the Holy Cow! Burger pays homage to the late Hall of Fame baseball announcer, though there are five other signature burgers to choose from

Also try: appetizers Harry’s Stadium Nachos and Holy Cow! Potato Chips for a never-left-the-stadium style lunch
