More about National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows & The Shrine Hotel...
Short Description:
Founded by the Oblates Catholic order in 1958, The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows is a facility with multiple purposes: a quiet place to bask in nature, a serene escape to consider existence, or just a nice stop on a tour of St. Louis.
Full Details:
The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows is a one-of-a-kind experience. Besides being the site of national devotion for the Oblates Catholic order, the hundreds of acres of grounds are stunning. Designed for true-believer and tourist alike, the immaculate gardens promote contemplation and meditation, portraying scenes like Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and a replica grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in France. Don't think this is just a Catholic area, though. Our Lady of Snows is meant for all branches of belief to come together and celebrate faiths in a serene setting.
Catering to weddings, events and banquets, as well as retreats and other more religious events, the shrine is a 200-acre haven with beautifully landscaped gardens, an outdoor amphitheatre, nature trail, and a 2-acre children's playground to either accomplish business in a quiet setting or mull over the meaning of life.
In addition to the lovely and strollable grounds, there's a hotel with modern amenities for guests who want to explore the full power of the site and a full-service restaurant so you never have to leave the tranquility of the site to eat.
Wedding, business meeting, or small-group retreat, The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows is the ideal getaway from the hubbub of the city.
