Quintessential St. Louis: Sports Town USA
Author: Laurie Burstein
St. Louis has been called the sports capitol of the U.S., and with three major sporting events taking place this spring, there’s something for every sports fan. The world champion St. Louis Cardinals (700 Clark St., 314-345-9000) hold their home opener on Sunday, April 1, against the New York Mets. Ticket prices range from $16 for bleacher seats to $39 for outfield loge seats to $90 for infield loge seats with food service. The 2007 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Midwest Regional takes place at the Edward Jones Dome (901 N. Broadway, 314-241-1888) on March 23 and 25. Tickets are $110, $120, and $130. Top collegiate hockey teams compete in the NCAA Frozen Four hockey tournament on April 5 and 7 at Scottrade Center (1401 Clark Ave., 314-241-1888). While the tournament is a sellout, a few tickets still may be available.
