Soulful songstress Erin Bode has toured in Italy and all across the U.S. Her newest album, The Little Garden, has put her on the road again, but for her, St. Louis remains home. On her way to perform in New York and Boston when we spoke, Erin turned her thoughts toward home and waxed poetic about her ideal day in the city.

8 A.M.

First thing, we’d head over to Soulard Coffee Garden. I love that place for breakfast. It has a great vibe and is right in the heart of Soulard—which has the coolest architecture and atmosphere. All the food there is terrific, but I’d definitely order the Eggs Benedict.

10 A.M.

If it’s a nice day, we’d walk the dogs or ride bikes on the many trails in Forest Park (M4;B4). While you’re in the park, there are tons of places to go, like The Saint Louis Art Museum or The Science Center. Plus, the park really is beautiful any time of year.

For lunch, Cyrano's in Webster Groves is a wonderful place. I think their Cobb Salad is great, but they’re known for their desserts. The bread pudding is the best.

2 P.M.

After lunch, I’d have to go shopping at Frontenac Plaza. I like that they have the stores you can’t find in other malls. Also, they have a great movie theater, Landmark Cinema that plays independent and foreign films, so maybe we’d catch a movie.

6 P.M.

Dinner would definitely be at Revival. It’s very good. The chef, Cary McDowell, puts together the most amazing dishes. I think they describe it as “creative comfort food.” They focus on serving local, seasonal cuisine and grow a lot of what they serve out on their own patio.

8 P.M.

After dinner, we’d go to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Conductor David Robertson has a really great mind and is incredibly talented and forward thinking. The symphony always has a wonderful repertoire and the most amazing musicians. If we don’t go to the Symphony, there’s also the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. They have a great season every year—always bringing in a good balance of classic, well-known shows and brand new shows you may not recognize. I’ve never been disappointed at The Rep.
