Completed in 1970, the John Hancock Center took three years to complete with more than 2,000 people who worked on the project. The Hancock Center is one of 29 towers worldwide that has a membership to the World Federation of Great Towers. The expressionistic design was lead by Bruce Graham, the architect and design partner, and Fazlur Khan who was the chief structural engineer of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The Hancock continues to be an icon in Chicago and is admired by locals and visitors.
