CP Receives NCA's Top Honors 4th Year Running

Newport, R.I (September 01, 2007)—The eighth-annual meeting of the National Concierge Association (NCA) took place in Newport, Rhode Island, this year, and was one of the most successful and well-attended meetings in the history of this fast-growing association.

An international non-profit network dedicated to supporting concierges and affiliated partners in the job of providing a high level of service across the globe, the NCA provides a support structure staffed by leading experts on concierge service.

For the fourth year in a row, Concierge Preferred (CP) was awarded the prestigious International Partner of the Year award, which is given to an affiliate partner "who has gone above and beyond in their support of the concierge community, and CP has does that on so many levels," says NCA Chicago Chapter President Sheryl Novak. "[Publisher] Tim O'Malley takes every call, on any subject, and is always willing to meet and help us tackle any obstacle. He has helped me bring the affiliate program of our chapter to life.

"He and the entire staff there completely support our chapter and, as the largest chapter in the NCA, that is so needed and appreciated. Whatever the needs are, they're right there for us and this award is well deserved."

Also repeating past success at the annual meeting was CP Director of Concierge Relations and Services, Joyce Fong, who received her second award for Concierge Outstanding Service. Fong is dedicated to the hospitality industry and her clients, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago chapter of the NCA and, through her position with the NCA, will now work with the organization on a national level. “With Joyce now offering her services on a broader level, she will benefit not only the Chicago chapter, but every chapter in the NCA organization,” says Novak. "Joyce reaches out beyond the normal boundaries of the hospitality community. She pays attention and listens, and really supports what's going on here in Chicago and it seems to bring her a lot of joy, from what I can tell," says Novak.  “Now that she is offering her services on a national level, she will benefit not only our chapter, but every chapter in our entire organization."

In general, Novak commended CP's extensive coverage of Chicago-area venues and corporations and its readiness to assist concierges.
“From hosting one of the most popular concierge events of the year (the CP Convention & Trade Show), introductions to new venues and to tools to make our jobs easier right at our finger tips within their interactive Website, CP finds ways to be of service to concierge in every area that our membership has chosen to work in—corporate, retail, hospital, residential, personal, hotel, as well as the small business owner,” says Novak.

CP 's widespread assistance to the concierge community helped place the Chicago chapter among the nation's best at the annual conference, says Sara-Ann Kasner, NCA president and founder.

“The NCA awarded this honor, for the fourth consecutive year, to Concierge Preferred Magazine due to its level of activity in the National Concierge Association, the superior quality of its product, which a majority of our members are pleased to share with their clientele, and its generosity in providing revenue to the association and involvement in the hospitality community at large,” Kasner says.

CP President & Publisher Tim O'Malley and Joyce Fong represented CP at the meeting.

“From the first day we started CP, we have insisted on not just doing a good job today, or tomorrow, but on being consistent year in and year out, and winning this prestigious award once more tells us we're on the right track," says O'Malley. CP is published six times annually by the O'Malley-Magnusson Publishing Group, LLC. All of the businesses listed in Concierge Preferred are reviewed by the Concierge Advisory Council to ensure that the businesses are worthy of a concierges' recommendation.
